Join us for a presentation given by author Brad Utter as he discusses his work regarding the Erie Canal.<\/p>\n

Brad L. Utter is the senior historian of transportation, agriculture, science, technology, and economics at the New York State Museum. Major exhibition and publication projects include Enterprising Waters: The History and Art New York\u2019s Erie Canal<\/em> in honor of the canal\u2019s bicentennial. He also co-authored The Motorcycle Industry in New York State, Second Edition<\/em>. Current research projects include work on 19th century fire engine manufacturing in New York State, and various aspects of the New York State canal system. Prior to this appointment Utter served as director of the Waterford Historical Museum and Cultural Center in Waterford, New York for several years.<\/p>\n
